Terms & Conditions

Effective date: March 18, 2026

1. Agreement to terms

By accessing or using ScriptFlo (“the Service”), including the web application at scriptflo.ai, the desktop application, and any associated APIs, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of service

ScriptFlo is a screenwriting application that provides screenplay formatting, story structure tools, production breakdown features, and AI-assisted creative coaching. The Service is available as a web application and a desktop application built with Electron.

3. Accounts

Some features require an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Your content

You retain full ownership of all screenplays, characters, beat sheets, notes, and other creative content you create using ScriptFlo. We claim no intellectual property rights over your content.

By using cloud save, you grant us a limited license to store, transmit, and display your content solely to provide the Service to you. This license ends when you delete your content or close your account.

We do not use your content to train AI models or for any purpose other than delivering the Service.

5. AI features

ScriptFlo includes AI-powered features such as scene coaching, character voice analysis, and creative suggestions. These features are provided as creative assistance tools and come with the following terms:

  • AI-generated suggestions are just that — suggestions. You are solely responsible for the creative decisions in your work.
  • When using ScriptFlo's managed AI, your prompts and relevant script context are sent to third-party AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, or OpenRouter). These providers process your data under their own terms.
  • When using “Bring Your Own Key” mode, API requests go directly from your browser to the provider. We do not intermediate, log, or store these requests.
  • AI features may produce inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate content. We do not guarantee the quality, accuracy, or suitability of AI-generated output.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to distribute content that violates applicable law
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Service beyond what is permitted by applicable law
  • Interfere with the Service's infrastructure or other users' access
  • Create accounts through automated means or operate multiple free accounts to circumvent usage limits
  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service without written permission

7. Subscription & billing

ScriptFlo offers free and paid tiers. Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually as selected at checkout. You may cancel at any time; access continues through the end of your current billing period. We do not offer prorated refunds for partial billing periods.

We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice. Price changes do not apply to the current billing period.

8. Export & data portability

You can export your screenplays in multiple industry-standard formats including PDF, Fountain, Final Draft (FDX), HTML, plain text, and JSON at any time. We believe your work should never be locked in.

9. Availability & modifications

We strive to keep ScriptFlo available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. For significant changes, we will provide reasonable notice.

The desktop application can be used offline for local projects regardless of service availability.

10. Intellectual property

The ScriptFlo name, logo, design, and application code are owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These terms do not grant you any rights to use our branding or trademarks.

Story structure templates included in the Service (Three-Act Structure, Hero's Journey, Save the Cat, etc.) are based on publicly available storytelling frameworks and are provided as creative tools.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ScriptFlo is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or interruption of creative work.

Our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ScriptFlo, its officers, and contributors from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these terms.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may terminate or suspend your access if you violate these terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately, but you may export your content beforehand.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which ScriptFlo operates, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.

15. Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice in the application at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
